Marguerite & Brian Nicholson

Brian & Marguerite Nicholson

As for many who have the inherent need to coax something magical from the soil, Nicholson Vineyards is the realization of a dream. Rich in family tradition (9th generation California family), the Nicholson's gladly share their passion to produce superb fruit in their estate vineyard and create exceptional wine that truly represents the unique characteristics of each varietal.

Brian and Marguerite welcome you to experience their boutique winery, which is hidden amongst the vines and olive groves. Known for warm and friendly hospitality, it is not unusual for visitors to meet and talk with the wine maker and Nicholson family while enjoying wine tasting on the patio. The winery is open Saturdays Noon-5 pm. Please join us to savor a glass of wine. Enjoy the vineyard and valley views while you share a picnic lunch under the Oaks with family and friends.

The Vineyards & Olive Grove

Our estate vineyards include four acres of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which are separated into three blocks. The vines were planted in 1996 and expanded in 2004, when we planted additional Pinot Noir. Each block includes a diverse combination of root stocks and clones, and is situated with a southwest exposure, allowing for the benefit of maximum sunlight hours and our cool evening breezes.

Adjacent to the estate vineyards is our olive grove, which we added in 2005. Four acres of Tuscan olives grow in the classic grove style. In 2008, the maiden harvest was celebrated and our first estate, extra virgin olive oil was produced. Because the supply is so limited, our wine club enjoys the benefit of purchasing our extra virgin olive oil before it is released to the public. The grapes and olives grow harmoniously together at Nicholson Vineyards, as they have done in Southern Europe for centuries.
